On 17 February 2015, His Excellency Warawudh Chuwiruch, Thai Ambassador to the UAE, paid a courtesy call on His Excellency Dr. Mohammad Salim Al Olama, Undersecretary, Ministry of Health of the UAE. Both parties exchanged views on health collaboration between Thailand and the UAE, including the treatment of Emirati patients in Thailand, exchange of medical experts, cooperation between Thai and UAE hospitals and supply of medical equipments.

 

            The UAE is important to the Thai medical tourism business. In 2014, it was estimated that 70,000 UAE nationals traveled to Thailand for medical treatment, making them the largest group from the Arabic Gulf countries.
