Thai Ambassador reiterated Thailand’s economic potentials to NZ business group and ASEAN Ladies Circle Gathering and Luncheon

            On 2 June 2015,  H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Thai Ambassador to New Zealand, welcomed and hosted lunch for New Zealand business leaders under ASEAN Young Business Leaders Project organized by Asia NZ Foundation.  The business leaders will visit Thailand and Singapore as a part of the Project. 
 
            In this occasion, the Thai Ambassador reiterated Thailand’s economic potential to members of the NZ business group.  Thailand has world class manufacturing facilities which are well known to foreign businessmen and investors.  Furthermore, because of its geographical location, Thailand has advantages to be ASEAN Logistic Hub, especially in transportation area. In the meantime, New Zealand’s raw products and STI in food and agro products, which can feed 60 million people around the world, is outstanding.  With these potentials, both sides will be able to explore more business opportunity between each other.   
 
            On Tuesday, 2 June 2015, Mrs. KokanSangiampongsa, spouse of the Ambassador of Thailand to New Zealand, attended ASEAN Ladies Circle (ALC) hosted by Mrs. FitriaWibowo Tavares, spouse of the Indonesian Ambassador to New Zealand, at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia, Wellington. Respective spouses of ASEAN Heads of Mission in Wellington take turn to host such an event in order to enhance relationship among members and to promote ASEAN culture in New Zealand. In the event, many activities were organized such as traditional dance (Tor-tor Dance), traditional cooking demonstration, and luncheon.
