On 27 – 30 June 2015, H.E. Mr. Panyarak Poolthup, Ambassador of Thailand to Vietnam, together with the Royal Thai Embassy’s officials, welcomed H.E. Mr. Norachit Sinhaseni, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, and his delegation who visited Vietnam to attend the 5th Thailand – Vietnam Political Consultation Group (PCG). 

 

            Thailand – Vietnam Political Consultation Group (PCG) is a senior official meeting between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and Vietnam which is annually held in accordance with the MOU on Cooperation between both Ministries which was signed during the official visit to Vietnam of General Tanasak Patimapragorn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, to co-chair the 2nd Joint Commission on Bilateral Cooperation (JCBC) between Thailand and Vietnam in March 2015. 

 

            The 5th PCG discussed wide-ranging issues related to the diplomatic relations between both countries including political relations, security and defense, trade and investment, transportation and connectivity, fisheries, labour and regional and international cooperation. Moreover, both sides had a discussion on the preparation for the official visit to Thailand of Prime Minister of Vietnam and the 3rd Joint Cabinet Retreat (JCR) which will be held in Bangkok on 23 – 24 July 2015.
