On 20 March 2015 at the Thai Residence, Ambassador Pitchayaphant Charnbhumidol organized a handover of Chairmanship of the ASEAN Committee in Brasilia (ACB) to the incoming Chairperson of  ACB, Ambassador Nguyen Van Kien of Viet Nam.

 

            During Thailand’s chairmanship (March – July 2015), the  ACB achieved several activities, namely  a courtesy call on Federal Deputy Jô Moraes, Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs and National Defense Committee of the Chamber of Deputies of Brazil (CREDN), a farewell lunch for Ambassador of Republic of Korea as well as a farewell dinner for Charge d’Affaires of Singapore.

 

            Before the handover ceremony, Ambassador of Thailand chaired the 2nd Meeting of the ACB for the year 2015. He thanked all ACB Ambassadors and Working Group members for their full support and assistance to raise the profile of the ASEAN-Brazil relations and awareness of ASEAN in Brazil.

 

            The meeting was concluded by a lunch hosted by the Ambassador of Thailand.
