On 5 December 2015, Ambassador Panyarak Poolthup attended the Opening Ceremony of the 3rd Food Festival organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam at Van Phuc Diplomatic Compound. This year the 3rd Food Festival was launched under the theme “ASEAN Community with International friends” in order to highlight the ASEAN integration into Community at the end of this year. Madam Mai Thi Hanh, spouse of the President of Vietnam was guest of honour.

 

            Team Thailand in Hanoi presented the delicious Thai food, the Tourism Authority of Thailand in Ho Chi Minh supported the demonstration of Thai dessert (Coconut poffertjes and Tapioca balls with pork filling) and the classical Thai dance from Huachiew Chalermprakiet University performed at the fair. The Thai restaurant “Gusto” also prepared Thai food and dessert.Thai booth was well received by diplomatic corps, peoples as well as media attending the event.

 

            The participation in the Food Festival is not only the opportunity for Thailand to introduce various famous Thai cuisine and beautiful Thai culture to foreigners but also the venue for Thailand’s contribution to Vietnam’s society. The proceeds collected from the sales will be donated to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam for charitable causes.
