On 3 June 2016, Mr. Jakkrit Srivali, Director-General of the Department of ASEAN Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, presided over the opening ceremony of the ASEAN Library at Jakkarat Vittaya School, Nakhon Ratchasima province. The ASEAN Library is a continuing project implemented by the Department of ASEAN Affairs to create a network of libraries that serve as centres of knowledge and activities about ASEAN for students and local communities nationwide.

             On the same occasion, Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs (DVIFA), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' academy, also conducted an English workshop by Thai young diplomats to improve the students’ English capability and get them ready for the ASEAN Community. 

              The library and workshop are part of the Royal Thai Government's year-long campaign to give 2016 New Year's gifts to the Thai people.
