Ambassador´s Visit to the State of Mato Grosso

             On 21 – 26 September 2016, H.E. Mr. Pitchayaphant Charnbhumidol, Ambassador of Thailand to Brazil, together with the delegation from the Department of Agricultural Extension of Thailand, paid an official visit to the state of Mato Grosso. During the visit, the Ambassador and his delegation made a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Pedro Taques, the Governor of the state of Mato Grosso, and had various fruitful meetings with the state secretaries. The discussions were focused on ways to strengthen relations and increase collaborations in all dimensions, including trade, investment, tourism and people-to-people contacts. The delegation also had a study visit to cultivated areas of the state and relevant agricultural agencies to learn about soybean-based cropping system. The state of Mato Grosso is known as the “Brazilian barn”, being the largest producer of soybean, corn, cotton, bean and freshwater fish in Brazil, and has advanced innovations and technologies that make it possible for the state to cultivate and harvest various economic crops throughout the year.
