On 22 October 2018, H.E. Ms. Rommanee Kananurak, Ambassador of Thailand to Mexico, concurrently accredited to Cuba, presided over the Royal Decoration Presentation Ceremony at the Royal Thai Embassy in Mexico to honour Mr. Jorge Manuel Vera González, Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Thailand in Havana.
     Honorary Consul Jorge Manuel Vera González was conferred with the Royal Decoration of the Fourth Class of the Most Noble Order of the Crown of Thailand on 30 August 2016, in recognition of his service to the Kingdom of Thailand since his appointment as the Honorary Consul of Thailand in Havana in 2003.
     The ceremony was attended by Mrs. Maribel Torres de Vera, his wife, his acquaintances in Mexico, along with representatives from the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in Mexico and officials of the Royal Thai Embassy in Mexico.
