          On 4 May 2019, Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) organized Thailand Tourism Roadshow 2019 to promote its new "Open to the New Shades" campaign at the Crowne Plaza Hotel - the Business Park in Doha, Qatar. The event was presided over by H.E. Mr. Nathapol Khantahiran, Ambassador of Thailand to the State of Qatar, and Mrs. Srisuda Wanapinyosak, TAT Deputy Governor for International Marketing (Europe, Africa, Middle East and Americas). The event was part of a post-Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2019 which took place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and this year's post-ATM Roadshow covered two countries: Kuwait and Qatar. The activities included a business-to-business matching between Thai tourism entrepreneurs and local tour operators and private sector in Qatar and Thai cultural performances by famous Thai artist Mr. Tachaya Pathumwan or “Keng Tachaya." The event attracted more than 200 participants. In terms of tourism, Thailand is one of the leading destinations for visitors from Qatar and the Middle East. In 2018, there were 35,838 tourists from Qatar visiting Thailand, which was a 27.45 percent increase from the previous year. Most travelers were interested in wellness and medical tourism as well as natural attractions and beaches in Thailand.
