Director General of Department of International Economics Affairs attended the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) Informal Senior Officials’ Meeting where he emphasised the BCG Economy as a model to mitigate the challenges resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic and to achieve sustainable and inclusive development.

On 30 March 2021, Mr. Cherdchai Chaivaivid, Director General of Department of International Economics Affairs attended the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) Informal Senior Officials’ Meeting, held virtually in Ankara, Turkey. The Meeting reviewed recent development of the cooperation and discussed the formulation of foundational documents namely; (1) Draft ACD Blueprint (2021-2030) and (2) Guiding Principles for the Functioning of the Secretariat which will serve as key guidelines to drive forward 6 pillars of ACD cooperation and operation of the ACD Secretariat.

Thailand, as Prime Mover on Promoting Approaches to Inclusive and Sustainable Development, presented an initiative to organise acitivity related to Bio, Circular and Green (BCG) Economy in the last quarter of 2021 aiming at providing opportunities for member countries to share best practices on the BCG Economy as a model to mitigate the challenges resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic and to achieve sustainable and inclusive development.

The ACD was established in 2002 as pan-Asia cooperation and policy dialogue forum to promote understanding and mutual trust among Asian countries and to forge pan-Asian strategic linkages in key policy areas, drawing strength from the diversity of all member states.
