On 8 August 2025, H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, will preside over the ASEAN Day celebration to commemorate the 58th anniversary of the establishment of ASEAN at Lumpini Park, organised by the Department of ASEAN Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The celebration will comprise of two main activities: the ASEAN Flag Hoisting Ceremony and the “ASEAN Family Run”, a 2.5-kilometre walk-run held in a friendly and engaging atmosphere. The event aims to promote unity and solidarity among the ASEAN family and also encourages healthy and balanced lifestyles, in line with ASEAN’s vision of building a resilient, inclusive, and people-centred Community.

The Department of ASEAN Affairs, as Thailand’s National ASEAN Secretariat, organises the ASEAN Day celebration annually to reaffirm Thailand’s commitment to advancing ASEAN cooperation and to foster participation from all sectors.

This year’s event will bring together approximately 500 participants, including members of the diplomatic corps from ASEAN Member States, Timor-Leste, ASEAN Dialogue Partners, Sectoral Dialogue Partners, and Development Partners, as well as representatives from government agencies, private sector, international organisations, and members of the public.
