On 26–27 June 2025, Mrs. Chulamanee Chartsuwan, Thai Governor to the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF), attended the 46th ASEF Board of Governors meeting held in Kraków, Poland, alongside governors from Asia and Europe. The meeting deliberated on the strategic direction of the foundation and approved projects and budget for the year.

During the meeting, the Thai Governor was appointed as a member of the ASEF Executive Committee (ExCo), a key body in charge of the foundation’s governance and responsible for reviewing policies, project proposals, and issues prior to submission to the Board of Governors for approval. The ExCo now comprises representatives from 12 countries/organizations, namely Thailand, China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, Indonesia, Spain, France, Hungary, Poland, Luxembourg, and the European Union.

On the sidelines of the meeting, the Thai Governor held a bilateral discussion with Mr. Zhang Lei, ASEF Deputy Executive Director, and exchanged views on important issues relevant to the foundation.

ASEF is the sole institution under the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) with the aim to promote mutual understanding between Asia and Europe, and support ASEM’s Track II cooperation in seven key areas, namely: (1) Education, (2) Culture, (3) Governance, (4) Public Health, (5) Media, (6) Economy, and (7) Sustainable Development.
