On 24 - 25 June 2026, Mr. Chulvat Narinthrangura, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), participated in the First Australia–Thailand Development Dialogue together with Ms. Kate Smith, Acting Director-General for Southeast Asia Regional and Mainland Division, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Australia, in Canberra, Australia.

Both sides exchanged views on policies, directions, and approaches to driving concrete development cooperation between Thailand and Australia. This dialogue is a key mechanism for enhancing development cooperation between the two countries and building on trilateral cooperation to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in the Mekong Sub-region and other regions of mutual interest.

In addition, the Director-General also had discussions with (1) Dr. Nick Austin, Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR), to discuss ways to promote trilateral cooperation in agriculture and food security, and water and air quality management; (2) Ms. Roslyn Dundas, Director of Policy and Advocacy, Australian Council for International Development (ACFID), to exchange best practices on the locally led development partnership approach, which Thailand can apply in its future operations; and (3) Mr. Curtis Leonard Tu’ihalangingie, Chargé d'affaires of the Kingdom of Tonga to Australia, to advance cooperation in medical personnel development and cocoa cultivation development in Tonga.
