The set was received by Professor Dr. Irene Becci, Dean of the Faculty of Theology and Sciences of Religions. Also in attendance were Professor Dr. Frédéric Herman, Rector of the University of Lausanne, Professor Dr. Danielle van Mal-Maeder, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, senior university administrators, representative from the Permanent Mission of Thailand to the WTO and WIPO in Geneva, and officials from the Royal Thai Embassy in Bern.

On this occasion, Professor Dr. Irene Becci expressed her sincere appreciation to the Thai side, noting that the World Tipitaka Saj-jha-ya Phonetic Recitation 2016 Editions are an extraordinarily meaningful gift. She stated that the University of Lausanne is deeply honored to receive these special volumes, which are not only a symbol of religious and cultural scholarship but also a reminder of the long-standing ties between the university and the Thai people. In particular, she remarked that Lausanne holds a special place in the hearts of the Thai people, as it was where His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great spent part of his youth. She affirmed the university’s commitment to making the best academic use of the Tipitaka Editions and expressed her belief that this initiative would help further strengthen the close relationship between Thailand and Switzerland.

The presentation was part of a global dissemination project to honor the auspicious occasion of His Majesty the King's 6th Cycle Birthday Anniversary July 28, 2024. A collaboration between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and the World Tipitaka Foundation, the project aims to donate the specially printed Tipitaka Editions to libraries, institutions and organizations in over 36 countries (including Switzerland) where His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother once paid official visits or which have cordial ties with Thailand.
