On 28 April 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Mr. Petr Macinka, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, on the sidelines of the 25th ASEAN - EU Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam.

Both sides exchanged views on ways to enhance cooperation in response to ongoing global challenges, including promoting trade and investment through expediting negotiations on the Thailand - EU Free Trade Agreement. At the bilateral level, both sides agreed to strengthen engagement and expand cooperation in economic, trade, and investment areas. The Thai side underscored the importance of the third Thailand - Czech Joint Economic Commission (JEC), to be held in Prague in 2027, as well as the promotion of high-level visits and investment exchanges in key sectors of both countries, including the automotive, medical, and defence industries. Both sides also welcomed progress under the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Military Technical Cooperation, as well as the Czech Republic’s support in military training.
