On 23 June 2026, H.E. Mr. Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara, Chairman of the Advisory Board to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, attended as the Guest of Honour at the reception on the occasion of the 250th Anniversary of the Independence of the United States of America at Chiang Mai Marriott Hotel in Chiang Mai province.

The Chairman of the Advisory Board, together with The Honorable Sean Kotaro O’Neill, U.S. Ambassador to Thailand, Ms. Kelia Cummins, U.S. Consul General in Chiang Mai, and guests, observed a moment of silence in mourning the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother and Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati Kromluang Rajasarinisiribajra Mahavajrarajadhita.

The Chairman of the Advisory Board congratulated the U.S. on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of its Independence, commending the country’s remarkable achievements in strengthening its security, economy, society, and culture. He underscored the longstanding and close Thailand - U.S. relations over the past 193 years, which have evolved into an alliance and partnership encompassing multifaceted cooperation in defence and security, trade and investment, public health, education, humanitarian assistance, and strong people-to-people ties, as well as regional cooperation through ASEAN and other regional and sub-regional frameworks. These have long benefited both countries and contributed to peace and development in the region. He reaffirmed Thailand’s commitment to further strengthening friendship, partnership, and alliance with the U.S. for mutual benefit, including through cooperation in emerging areas such as artificial intelligence, the digital economy, and supply chain resilience, for the shared prosperity of both countries and the peoples.
