On 10 August 2026, Mr. Steven Xu Yuan, Advisor to the President & CEO for Business Development of AAPICO Hitech Public Company Limited, paid a visit to Ms. Najjsiri Nimyizhune, Deputy Consul-General and Acting Consul-General of Thailand in Chengdu. Ms. Nirinthorn Sakdiret, Director of the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) Chengdu Office, also joined the meeting. The two sides exchanged views on AAPICO’s business operations, plans to expand investment in Thailand, and opportunities to strengthen cooperation with Chinese partners in support of the growing electric vehicle (EV) and future mobility industries.

AAPICO Hitech is a Thai company with more than 25 years of experience in the automotive industry. Established in 1996, the company was listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand in 2002 under the ticker symbol “AH.” Today, the Group operates an extensive business network in Thailand and overseas, with three core business areas: OEM automotive parts manufacturing and related businesses; automobile dealerships and after-sales services; and technology businesses involving connectivity and IoT. The Group currently comprises 52 subsidiaries and associated companies — 32 in Thailand and 20 overseas.

In Thailand, AAPICO’s headquarters and first main manufacturing facility are located at the Hi-Tech Industrial Estate in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, with additional production facilities in Samut Prakan, Chonburi and Rayong. The Group has also expanded its business internationally, including to China, Malaysia, Portugal and the United States. In China in particular, AAPICO has maintained business operations for more than 20 years and operates an automotive parts manufacturing facility in Kunshan, Jiangsu Province, reflecting the Group’s production network connecting Thailand with one of China’s key industrial bases.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on the major transformation taking place in the global automotive industry, from internal combustion engine vehicles towards electric vehicles (EVs) and Smart Mobility. This transition is in line with Thailand’s policy to promote the EV industry and strengthen the country’s position as a production base for future mobility. China, meanwhile, plays a significant role in the global EV supply chain, particularly in technology, batteries, automotive components and the broader EV ecosystem.

AAPICO has therefore adjusted its strategy to respond to this transformation while continuing to deepen cooperation with Chinese partners, with the aim of connecting China’s strengths in technology and the EV ecosystem with Thailand’s capabilities and established automotive manufacturing base to create new business opportunities and strengthen supply chains for future mobility.

At present, AAPICO has six investment projects in Thailand that have received BOI investment promotion, with additional investment plans and new projects under development. The company has also expanded cooperation with Chinese partners through joint ventures and strategic partnerships, with approximately 34 cooperation projects covering areas ranging from die-casting components and automotive electronics to products related to the EV ecosystem. A number of these projects have the potential to be further developed into investment and business cooperation in Thailand.

The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Chengdu and the BOI Chengdu Office also exchanged views with the company on ways to facilitate its investment projects, including the provision of information on investment promotion measures, coordination with relevant agencies, and facilitation for Chinese experts and personnel who may need to travel to Thailand to support technology transfer, machinery installation and joint projects with business partners.

The meeting reflects the evolving nature of Thailand–China economic cooperation, which is expanding beyond trade and manufacturing towards joint investment, technological linkages and the development of future supply chains. By combining Thailand’s strengths as an established automotive manufacturing base with China’s technological capabilities and EV ecosystem, both sides can help enhance the competitiveness of Thailand’s automotive industry in the new mobility era.
