The Royal Thai consulate- General, Chicago attended the 2026 Songkran Festival at Wat Dhammaram, Chicago and Wat Pa in Burbank, IL

On April 12, 2026, Consul-General Bacharee Puengpak attended the 2026 Songkran Festival at Wat Dhammaram, Chicago. The event was organized by the Northern Illinois Thai Association.

Subsequently, on April 19, 2026, Mr. Varapol Chensavasdijai, Deputy Consul-General attended the 2026 Songkran Festival at Wat Pa Chicago in Burbank, Illinois. The Songkran Festivals featured Buddhist religious ceremonies and the offering of alms to the monks. In the afternoon, there were traditional water-pouring ceremonies for the participants to receive blessings from monks and elders.
