On 25 October 2026, the Royal Thai Embassy in Copenhagen, together with the Rak Thai Association, organised a volunteer activity to make sandalwood flowers at Rak Thai School. The flowers will be used for the public sandalwood flower offering ceremony in remembrance of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, scheduled for 16 December 2026 at Wat Pa Copenhagen. The volunteer activity was attended by H.E. Mrs. Suphanvasa Chotikajan Tang, Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark, together with officials and staff of the Royal Thai Embassy and their families, as well as members of the Thai community and other participants in Denmark.
Approximately 60 volunteers, comprising Thai and foreign participants, including children and young people, took part in making sandalwood flowers for the ceremony. The activity was organised in commemoration of Nawaminthara Maharaj Day (13 October), promoting volunteerism and service to the public while reflecting the cooperation between the Royal Thai Embassy and the Thai community in Denmark. It also served as an expression of loyalty and a tribute to the boundless benevolence of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother.
The Rak Thai Association plays an important role in strengthening the Thai community network in Denmark. Through its “Rak Thai School” programme, the Association provides Thai language classes every Sunday, helping Thai children and young people born or raised in Denmark, as well as children from Thai families, learn the Thai language and culture. Classes are taught by volunteer teachers who are members of the Association.
The Royal Thai Embassy in Copenhagen will announce further details of the public sandalwood flower offering ceremony, to be held on 16 December 2026 at Wat Pa Copenhagen, in due course.
