Royal Thai Embassy in Copenhagen invited Life Science and Bioscience experts from Denmark to Thailand to strengthen Thailand-Denmark collaboration

The Royal Thai Embassy in Copenhagen invited two experts from Denmark, namely Associate Professor Dr. Morten Scheibye-Knudsen from the Center for Healthy Aging, University of Copenhagen and Dr. Alberto De Maria, Chief of Science (CSO) at BioHalo, a Danish startup focused on sustainable bioscience innovation, to take part in a project to enhance collaboration in Life Science and Bioscience between Thailand and Denmark during 9-14 June 2025. Both experts delivered lectures on Longevity Medicine & Cell Therapy for the "VELA (Vitality Enhancement & Longevity Academy)" executive program at the Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, on 11 June 2025. They also spoke at the Symposium on "Advancing Thailand-Denmark Collaboration in Bioscience, Future Food, Medicine, and Environment for Sustainability," organized by the International College of Kasetsart University on 12 June 2025. Her Excellency Mrs. Suphanvasa Chotikajan Tang, Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark, attended the symposium's opening, and gave an opening remark emphasizing the goal of fostering Thai-Danish collaboration in life sciences and biosciences to boost Thailand's global competitiveness.

 

In addition, the experts from Denmark, accompanied by Professor Dr. Wanwipa Vongsangnak, Dean of International College of Kasetsart University , paid a visit to the Public Health Committee of the House of Representatives at the Thai Parliament on June 12, 2025. On this occasion, they were welcomed by Dr. Tossaporn Serirak, the Chairman of the Commitee, and discussed ways to forge networks, exchange knowledge, and advance expertise in life sciences and biosciences between Thailand and Denmark.
 
Both experts also visited the Vidyasirimedhi Institute of Science and Technology (VISTEC) in Rayong Province, a leading Thai graduate research institute established by PTT Group, where they presented a briefing on Synthetic Biology for Next Generation Researchers.
