On 10 May 2022, Ambassador Libor Sećka, the Special Envoy of the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the Indo-Pacific paid a courtesy call on Mr. Sarun Charoensuwan, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Acting Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs during a visit to Thailand and the region.

The two sides discussed and exchanged views on ways to enhance cooperation under the EU Strategy for Cooperation in the Indo-Pacific and the priorities of the Czech Republic during the forthcoming Czech Presidency of the Council of the European Union in July - December 2022.

Furthermore, the Czech Republic’s plan of activities and engagement with Thailand and ASEAN countries were also discussed, especially the High-Level Dialogue on the Indo-Pacific on 13-14 June 2022 in Prague and a seminar on space cooperation in Bangkok in September 2022.

The meeting enhanced Thai - Czech bilateral relations as well as cooperation under the European Union framework. Both sides had the opportunity to have candid and friendly discussions on strategies to promote mutual cooperation for the benefit of the two countries and peoples.
