On 18 July 2025, Mrs. Krongkanit Rakcharoen, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, had a discussion with H.E. Mr. Hannes Hanso, Ambassador of Estonia to Thailand with residence in Beijing, on the occasion of the latter’s presentation of Letters of Credence to His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua, on 20 July 2025.

Both sides discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations and advancing cooperation in economic development and innovation, particularly in the areas of e-Government and cybersecurity. The Estonian side reiterated its support for the ongoing negotiations of the Thailand - European Union Free Trade Agreement and the waiver of visa for Thai ordinary passport holders to the Schengen area. They also exchanged views on regional and international developments.
