On 31 August 2026, Ms. Jaithai Upakarnitikaset, Director-General of the Department of Information and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, received a courtesy call by Mr. Jason Raskin, Spokesperson of the U.S. Embassy in Thailand, upon his assumption of duty.
Both sides discussed their respective work priorities and ways to strengthen cooperation in strategic communications, addressing misinformation and disinformation, public and cultural diplomacy, and people-to-people ties, including the U.S. Embassy’s plans of activities to celebrate Freedom 250. They also explored potential cooperation to co-organize communication activities on issues of shared priorities, such as combating online scams, with a view to strengthening media engagement and enhancing public understanding.
