On 24 - 28 August 2026, Ms. Rujikorn Saengchantr, Director-General of the Department of International Economic Affairs, in her capacity as Thailand’s APEC Senior Official, attended the 3rd APEC Senior Officials' Meeting and Related Meetings (APEC SOM3/2026) in Dalian, People's Republic of China.

The Director-General participated in reviewing progress under APEC 2026’s theme "Openness. Innovation. Cooperation." and in advancing preparations for the APEC Economic Leaders' Week in Shenzhen in November 2026. Thailand reaffirmed its strong support for APEC 2026 priorities, including the Free Trade Area of the Asia-Pacific (FTAAP), digital trade and AI, supply chain resilience, and regional connectivity, and provided updates on key initiatives in which Thailand plays a leading role, namely the 2026 APEC BCG Award, the development of the Guidance on Anti-Online Scams for APEC, and the outcomes of the 3rd APEC Business Advisory Council Meeting (ABAC3/2026), held in Bangkok.

The Director-General participated in policy dialogues on connectivity, the digital economy and AI, as well as held bilateral meetings with APEC Senior Officials from Indonesia, Canada, Viet Nam, Peru, and Hong Kong, China, to exchange views on APEC priorities and strengthen cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
