On 1 September 2025, Ms. Pinsuda Jayanama, Director-General of the Department of International Organizations, met with Ms. Tammi L. Sharpe, Representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Thailand.

The UNHCR representative commended Thailand for the Cabinet resolution on 26 August 2025 that allows Myanmar Displaced Persons (MDPs) in the temporary shelters to work in Thailand. In addition, both sides explored ways for further cooperation to implement the Cabinet resolution. The UNHCR reaffirmed its commitment to continue supporting the Royal Thai Government in this regard.
