On 2 September 2026, Mrs. Urasa Mongkolnavin, Director-General of the Department of South Asian, Middle Eastern and African Affairs, signed the condolence book following the devastating flash floods and landslides in Nepal at the Embassy of Nepal in Bangkok.

The Director-General discussed the disaster situation with H.E. Mr. Dhan Bahadur Oli, Ambassador of Nepal to Thailand, reaffirming Thailand’s readiness to provide humanitarian assistance to alleviate the impact of the disaster, support post-disaster recovery, and collaborate on strengthening future disaster preparedness.
