On 23 July 2026, Ms. Somrudee Poopornanek, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, met with Mr. Ron Yip, Deputy Director of Asia-Pacific Strategy and Trade Relations, Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade of the United Kingdom, to exchange views on promoting economic, trade and investment cooperation between Thailand and the United Kingdom.

The two sides exchanged views on advancing economic cooperation, including discussions on key trade and investment issues. They also discussed capacity-building cooperation under the OECD framework to support Thailand’s alignment with international economic standards, as well as high-level exchanges between Thailand and the United Kingdom.
