On 18 November 2025, Mrs. Varaporn Phuangketkeow, Spouse of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, together with Mr. Thongvut Pintaruchi, President of the Association of Spouses of Officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (ASOMFA), led a group of 56 Spouses of Heads of Missions (SHOM) and spouses of MFA officials on a visit to the exhibition “Chud Thai: Dressing the Nation in Heritage” at the Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles.

The visit offered the delegation an opportunity to appreciate the exquisite craftsmanship of royal textiles and traditional Thai fabrics and to deepen their understanding of the history and cultural significance of Thai attire. It also served to promote and showcase “Chud Thai Phra Rajniyom” to both Thai and international audiences, while honouring Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother for Her Majesty’s lifelong dedication to preserving and promoting Thai textiles and traditional dress. The programme further underscored the commitment of Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya to sustaining, conserving, and advancing these royal initiatives, particularly in safeguarding Thailand’s cultural heritage.

The exhibition tour supports Thailand’s efforts to nominate “Chud Thai: the Knowledge, Craftsmanship, and Practices of the Thai National Costume” for inscription on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity (ICH), scheduled for consideration in 2026.
