On 22 June 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, delivered a keynote address on "Diplomacy 2.0", organized by the International Studies Center (ISC), in collaboration with the Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs (DVIFA).

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that conventional foreign policy conduct can no longer be sustained in a world facing profound geopolitical transformations. He called for a paradigm shift from reactive to proactive, strategic, and integrated diplomacy, built upon four core pillars: (1) Strategic clarity (Diplomacy of Strategy); (2) Timely and decisive action (Diplomacy of Speed); (3) Policy coherence and inter-agency coordination (Diplomacy of Coherence); and (4) Clear and timely communication with the public and stakeholders (Diplomacy of Communication).

Following that, the Deputy Prime Minister had a seminar exchanging views with Dr. Anuson Chinvanno, Director of ISC, followed by a Q&A session. Key issues raised during the discussion included restoring Thailand's international standing, maintaining strategic autonomy, and pursuing proactive economic diplomacy in emerging markets, such as Africa, Central Asia, and the Middle East, as strategic pathways for shaping Thailand's foreign policy going forward.
