On 13 July 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a telephone conversation with The Honorable Kash Patel, Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), at the request of the U.S. side to further strengthen the longstanding partnership and cooperation in law enforcement between Thailand and the U.S.

The FBI Director conveyed his condolences on the fire incident in Bangkok on 13 July 2026. He also expressed his appreciation for the Thailand - U.S. law enforcement partnership and the tangible cooperation between the two countries. The Deputy Prime Minister welcomed the strong cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of both countries. He also reaffirmed Thailand's readiness to further strengthen cooperation with the U.S., especially in combating online scams, which is a shared priority for both Thailand and the U.S. and has affected many people.

Both sides also discussed practical ways to enhance relevant cooperation, including information sharing, high-level interactions and exchanges of visits, as well as regional cooperation. They will remain in close consultation on these matters.
