On 11 June 2026, Mr. Chettaphan Maksamphan, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, had discussions with Ms. Charlotte East, Assistant Secretary of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Branch, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) of Australia, on the occasion of her visit to Thailand.

Both sides reaffirmed the partnership between Thailand and Australia in promoting multilateral cooperation amidst geopolitical challenges, particularly in maintaining international peace and security. They also exchanged views on the implementation of obligations related to nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation at the bilateral, regional, and international levels.

Earlier, on 10 June 2026, Ms. East also had discussions with Ms. Cataleya Phatoomros, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Organizations, on issues related to nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament.
