On 6 May 2026, Mr. Chettaphan Maksamphan, Deputy Permanent Secretary, had a discussion with H.E. Mr. Lim Sang-Woo, Ambassador and Deputy Minister for Public Diplomacy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea.

Both sides exchanged views on the challenges of online scams, agreeing to consider intensifying collaboration between Thailand and the Republic of Korea in combating online scams. They discussed coordination and exchanges of information and intelligence among law enforcement and anti-money laundering offices, as well as promotion of regional cooperation and support for one another’s initiatives in multilateral fora, such as the trilateral cooperation framework in the Mekong region, the International Conference on Global Partnership against Online Scams by Thailand and Group of Friends for Combating Technology-facilitated Trafficking in Persons by the Republic of Korea.

Both sides also exchanged views on problems related to drug trafficking, consular affairs and protection of nationals in other countries.
