Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs meets with UNESCO Regional Director to strengthen education, science and culture cooperation

On 26 September 2025, Mr. Paisan Rupanichkij, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, held a meeting with Ms. Soohyun Kim, Director of the UNESCO Regional Office, to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation in the areas of education, science, culture, and the preservation of cultural heritage.

Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening ties and advancing joint initiatives. UNESCO expressed its readiness to closely expand collaboration with the Ministry to promote joint projects and activities in areas of mutual significance, especially in using culture as a tool to foster international understanding in a sustainable manner. UNESCO also commended the Ministry for its proactive role in promoting cultural diplomacy, recognizing Thailand’s efforts in using culture as a bridge to foster creative and sustainable international cooperation.

This meeting reflects the strong and growing relationship between Thailand and UNESCO, as well as a mutual dedication to promoting sustainable development through education and cultural cooperation.
