On 15 May 2025, Mr. Chulvat Narinthrangura, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) met with Dr. Nana Kuenkel, Cluster Coordinator – Agriculture and Food Cluster and Thai Rice GCF Project Director of GIZ Thailand.

Dr. Kuenkel provided an overview of agricultural and food development projects implemented by GIZ in Thailand and reported on the progress of the “Strengthening Climate-Smart Rice Farming” (Thai Rice GCF) project. This project aims to promote the transformation of rice farming methods in Thailand towards reducing methane emissions, which is a cause of greenhouse gases, and to enhance the capacity to adapt agricultural processes to climate change.

Both sides also discussed the possibility of scaling up the outcomes of agricultural projects to multiply positive impacts on air quality improvement in this sub-region.
