On 1 March 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs, chaired a meeting of the Middle East Situation Center (War Room), together with the Ministry’s executives, as well as all Royal Thai Embassies and Consulates-General in the region, to review the latest developments and progress in providing assistance to Thai nationals in each country.

The meeting was briefed that, at present, approximately 110,000 Thai nationals reside in the Middle East, and overall, there have been no reports of Thai nationals being injured in the region. All Thai Embassies and Consulates-General in the region have issued advisories urging Thai nationals to closely follow local news and official announcements, as well as guidance issued by the Embassies and Consulates-General. Evacuation plans of Thai nationals have been prepared should the need arise and may involve coordination with other countries or international organizations that are likewise preparing their own evacuation arrangements.

Currently, Royal Thai Embassies and Consulates-General in the affected areas are opening registration for Thai nationals wishing to return to Thailand. They are closely coordinating with host country authorities to prepare for assistance and facilitate evacuation, should it become necessary. The Ministry will continue to closely monitor the situation, assessing the impacts, and preparing appropriate response plans in line with evolving tensions.
