On 28 August 2025, H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiamponsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs met with Mirjana Spoljaric Egger, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and discussed opportunities to expand cooperation between Thailand and the ICRC to promote compliance with international humanitarian law, particularly in international forums. The Minister also shared the latest developments in Thai-Cambodian tensions, including a further landmine incident in Thai territory yesterday, which regrettably disabled a Thai soldier.

The Minister further underlined Thailand's respect for and prioritization of adherence to the ceasefire agreement between Thailand and Cambodia, noting that the continued use of social media in the dissemination of disinformation and propaganda aimed at inciting public confrontation by Cambodia is a key obstacle to resolving the issue, and also violates international law.
