On 3–4 August 2026, Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, joined the official visit of Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul to the Republic of Indonesia at the invitation of President Prabowo Subianto.

The Prime Minister of Thailand and the President of Indonesia co-chaired the 2nd Leaders’ Consultation, during which both sides held cordial and fruitful discussions on issues of common interest, including the plan to achieve a trade target of 23 billion USD by 2030,  the promotion and facilitation for 2-way investment, as well as ways to further strengthen strategic partnership under the newly adopted Roadmap on Strategic Partnership between Thailand and Indonesia  2026 - 2030, particularly on food security, energy security, tourism, people-to-people relations, and cooperation on education in line with the Memorandum of Understanding on Education Cooperation between the two countries. On political and security cooperation, both countries attach great importance on enhancing defence cooperation and combatting transnational crimes, especially on online scams. The two leaders also exchanged views on regional issues and cooperation within ASEAN frameworks.

In addition, the Prime Minister delivered a keynote speech at the Indonesia–Thailand Business Forum, co-organised by the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Thai Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia, to promote trade and investment opportunities between the two countries. He also delivered the policy speech laying out Thailand’s vision for the future of ASEAN at the ASEAN Secretariat.
