On 3 August 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, joined the Prime Minister on an official visit to Indonesia. This marks the Prime Minister’s first visit to Indonesia since assuming office and the first Prime Ministerial visit in over 15 years.

Thailand will advance proactive economic diplomacy, recognizing Indonesia as ASEAN’s largest economy and most populous country. Both sides will jointly announce the Thailand–Indonesia Strategic Partnership Plan (2026–2030) and build on the 2nd Leaders’ Consultation mechanism, which Thailand initiated during the official visit of H.E. Mr. Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia, to Thailand in 2025.

In addition, the Prime Minister will deliver a vision on the future of ASEAN at the ASEAN Secretariat on ASEAN Day, 8 August, in preparation for Thailand’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2028. This will also provide an important opportunity to further highlight Thailand’s role in regional and international affairs.
