On 11 May 2026, participants from the National Defence College (NDC) Class 67 of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defence, together with officials from both ministries, held the 2/2026 Informal Exchange, joined by H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, General Songwit Noonpackdee, former Chief of Defence Forces, and H.E. Mr. Sarun Charoensuwan, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, as special guests.

The Informal Exchange was initiated by NDC Class 67 participants to promote in-depth information sharing, strengthen cooperative networks, enhance inter-agency integration, and build mutual trust between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defence. It also aims to assess current international developments that may affect the security of Thailand and the region. This meeting was the third session and focused on the topic “Impacts of tensions in the Middle East on Southeast Asia and Thailand.” Participants exchanged information, perspectives, and views on the situation in the Middle East, the roles of major powers, and the impacts on Thailand and the region across various dimensions of security, including energy security.
