Ambassador of Italy paid a farewell call on Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand

On 5 October 2022, H.E. Mr. Lorenzo Galanti, Ambassador of the Republic of Italy to Thailand, paid a farewell call on H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, on the occasion of the completion of his tenure in Thailand.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs commended the Ambassador’s efforts in making valuable contributions to strengthening the relations and cooperations between the two countries, as well as initiating the project “Me and the Magic Door” Discovering Italian Architectures in Bangkok, the testament to unique historical ties between our two countries to promote artistic and cultural cooperation among Italy and Thailand.

Both sides also exchanged views on enhancing collaboration, bilateral and multilateral relations, and important global developments, such as the situations in Ukraine.

Moreover, on the same day the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs assigned Mrs. Vilawan Mangklatanakul, the Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, to bid a farewell to H.E. Mr. Lorenzo Galanti, the Ambassador of the Republic of Italy to the Kingdom of Thailand at The Siam Hotel. The luncheon was attended by Mr. Asi Mamanee, the Director-General of the Department of European Affairs,
Mr. Nicolaos Kaimenakis, the Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic to the Kingdom of Thailand, H.E. Mr. David Daly, the Ambassador of the European Union to the Kingdom of Thailand, and H.E. Mr. Patrick Bourne, the Ambassador of Ireland to the Kingdom of Thailand, as well as the executives of the Department of European Affairs and the Western Europe Division.

In addition, the Ambassador of Italy expressed his appreciation to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the support given to the Embassy of Italy during his tenure, as well as expressing the confidence that the relations between the two countries would continue to further progress in the years to come. The Ambassador also reaffirmed his intention to always be a “Friend of Thailand”.
