Kolkata, 25 August 2025 The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Kolkata proudly participated in the Times School Ranking East India 2025 ceremony held at
the Westin Kolkata Rajarhat, where Ms. Siriporn Tantipanyathep, Consul-General of Thailand in Kolkata, was invited as Chief Guest. The prestigious event, organized by the Times Group, celebrated and recognized outstanding educational institutions across Eastern India for their pivotal role in enhancing the quality of education, nurturing creativity and innovation, and shaping the next generation of Indian leaders.

In her keynote address, Consul-General Siriporn highlighted the profound impact of education in driving national progress, fostering global cooperation, and empowering youth to meet the challenges of the future. “As the Consul-General of Thailand, I am truly delighted to witness the vibrant spirit of academic excellence thriving across Eastern India. “Today, we celebrate not only institutional rankings, but the dedication, perseverance, and vision that education brings to young lives, communities, and the world at large.” She also emphasized the longstanding and meaningful ties between Thailand and India, particularly in the field of education, which has served as a vital bridge connecting both nations through student exchanges, academic collaboration, and shared values.

The bridge between India and Thailand is stronger than ever—built on the promise, passion, and potential of young leaders in your schools,” she continued. “I am confident that many of your students will grow to become the diplomats, entrepreneurs, thinkers, and changemakers who will further strengthen the friendship between our two countries.”  “Today’s celebration is a tribute to the tireless efforts of educators, the unwavering support of families, and, most importantly, the boundless potential of our youth,” she concluded.

The Royal Thai Consulate-General’s participation in the event underscored Thailand’s strong commitment to using education as a powerful tool to promote cross-cultural dialogue, people-to-people ties, and sustainable cooperation in the fields of education and culture with India.
