H.E. Mr. Saleumxay Kommasith, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao PDR), is scheduled to visit Thailand during 2 – 5 November 2021 at the invitation of H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, to co-chair the 22nd Joint Commission on Bilateral Cooperation (JC) between Thailand and Lao PDR, which will be held in Bangkok.

As a main mechanism driving Thai – Lao PDR relations, the 22nd Joint Commission meeting aims to further strengthen comprehensive cooperation and nurture the dynamic bilateral relations between the two close neighbouring countries. On this occasion, H.E. Mr. Saleumxay Kommasith will also pay a courtesy call on H.E. General Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister of Thailand at the Government House.

The 22nd Joint Commission meeting will be held during 3 – 4 November 2021 under the theme “Towards a Resilient and Sustainable Recovery Together”. The meeting will serve as an important opportunity for both sides to follow up on the progress made in various areas of cooperation and push forward cooperation in new areas that will bring about tangible benefits for the peoples of both countries and in support of efforts by Thailand and Lao PDR to achieve a strong, resilient and sustainable economic and social recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
