On 28 August 2026, H.E. Mrs. Kanokwan Pengsuwan, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Portugal, handed over the duty as a Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Lisbon Portugal (ACLP) to H.E. Mr. Manuel António Araújo Serrano, Ambassador of Timor-Leste to Portugal at the Residence of Thai Ambassador. The ACLP comprising of Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Timor-Leste and Vietnnam acknowledge the report of ACLP activities during the second first half of 2026 under the chairmanship of Thailand and also discussed the activities to be conducted in Portugal during the ACLP’s chairmanship of Timor-Leste
The ACLP consists of five ASEAN countries which have the embassies in Portugal, therefore the ACLP Chair is rotated among the five resident ASEAN ambassadors in Lisbon every six months.
