On 17 December 2025, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs, had a telephone conversation with H.E. Mrs. Kaja Kallas, High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the European Commission (HR/VP) of the European Union.

Both sides exchanged views on the Thai - Cambodian border situation and way forward to enhance Thailand - EU cooperation in combatting cybercrime, in particular online scams. The Thai Foreign Minister shared the Thai position and updated HR/VP on current developments in the situation since their latest meeting in Brussels on 21 November 2025. He also informed HR/VP about the upcoming Special ASEAN Ministerial Meeting to be held on 22 December 2025 in Malaysia as an occasion to discuss the Thai – Cambodian border situation.
