On 20 May 2026, Mr. Chulvat Narinthrangura, Director-General of the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), chaired the Thailand–Mexico Development Cooperation Meeting together with H.E. Mrs. Ilse Liliána Ferrer, Ambassador of Mexico to Thailand, at TICA. Mr. Carlos Acosta Montoya, Director-General of the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID), virtually co-chaired the meeting on the Mexican side. The meeting was attended by representatives from relevant agencies of both sides.

During the meeting, both sides discussed the Thailand–Mexico Three-Year Development Cooperation Programme 2026–2028, which covers six areas of cooperation, namely environment, medical tourism, food security, human resource development, gender equality, and risk management. Both sides agreed to advance concrete cooperation projects in each area in order to further strengthen the close partnership between Thailand and Mexico.

In 2026, both sides are scheduled to implement cooperation projects on environment and food security as priority areas and will jointly sign and endorse the Development Cooperation Programme in early July 2026.
