On 2 July 2025, Mr. Pongprach Makchang, Ambassador attached to the Ministry, and Mrs. Miriam Otto, Chargé d'Affaires, Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Thailand, presided over the opening ceremony of the Cyber Diplomacy Training Course, co-organized by the International Security Unit and the Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand between 2 - 4 July 2025, in collaboration with the experts from Clingendael Academy, a leading diplomatic training institution from the Netherlands. The Course was attended by representatives from 12 Thai government agencies, whose roles are related to the conduct of foreign affairs in the context of cybersecurity.

The Course, which is part of the Ministry’s efforts to promote cyber diplomacy, aimed at strengthening participants’ knowledge and enhancing policy coordination on cyber diplomacy amongst relevant Thai agencies. Key topics included the international cyber threat landscape, international law and norms applicable to cyberspace, and diplomatic approaches that Thailand may employ in response to cyber incidents.
