On October 9, 2026, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in New York organized a volunteer public service and merit-making activity to commemorate Navamindra Maharaj Day (October 13, 2026) and Chulalongkorn Day (October 23, 2026). Miss Somjai Taphaopong, Consul General of Thailand in New York, led officials and staff of the Consulate-General, members of Team Thailand in New York, and invited the Thai community in New York and states in the consular jurisdiction to participate in the volunteer initiative. The participants donated clothing and essential supplies to Care for the Homeless in New York to be distributed to individuals experiencing homelessness in the city.

This volunteer activity also served as an opportunity to promote awareness about Thailand and foster engagement between the officials of the Consulate-General, Team Thailand, and local organizations. This helps enhance the constructive role of the Consulate-General and Team Thailand in contributing to social harmony and mutual support for the public good, while promoting a positive image of the Thai community abroad.
