On 2 September 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, together with Mrs. Varaporn Phuangketkeow, spouse, signed the condolence book on the passing of His Majesty King Harald V of Norway at the Norwegian Residence in Bangkok. The Deputy Prime Minister was received by H.E. Mr. Frode Solberg, Ambassador-designate of the Kingdom of Norway to Thailand. The Deputy Prime Minister conveyed heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies to the people of Norway at this time of profound sorrow. 

His Majesty King Harald V was the King of Norway from 1991 - 2026. He paid a visit to Thailand in 1970 and 2014.
