On 12 September 2025, H.E. Mr. Psusist Wongsurawat, Consul-General of Thailand in Penang, paid a courtesy call on YB Dato' Seri Law Choo Kiang, the Speaker of the Penang State Legislative Assembly, at the Penang State Legislative Assembly. The meeting was also attended by Mr. Kantapon Sangkhapreecha, Consul, and Mr. Tan Liang Hong, Special Officer of Penang State Legislative Speaker.

Both sides discussed ways to boost tourism between Penang and Thailand and to establish cooperation between Penang State Legislative Assembly and Thailand’s provincial administrative authorities. Furthermore, both sides exchanged information on Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship and High-Level Meetings that took place in Penang, as well as on the current political situation.
