On 5 June 2025, Mrs. Eksiri Pintaruchi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, had a discussion with H.E. Mr. Han Zhiqiang, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Kingdom of Thailand, during a luncheon hosted to bid farewell upon the Ambassador's completion of duty.

The Ambassador thanked the Permanent Secretary and the Ministry for their support and cooperation throughout his tenure in Bangkok. He also appreciated the Ministry’s role in enhancing the dynamism of Thai - Chinese relations, which are underscored by mutual trust and close cooperation in trade, investment, and people-to-people exchanges. The Permanent Secretary expressed her appreciation for the Ambassador’s active role in strengthening the friendship between Thailand and China and particularly, his support for many important joint events to mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations this year. She also commended the Ambassador’s sincerity and dedication to deepening bilateral ties across all aspects and levels, which has benefitted the people of both countries. The relations between Thailand and China have far-reaching impact beyond the bilateral sphere, and continue to promote overall peace, stability, and prosperity in the region.

In addition, both sides also discussed plans for upcoming exchanges of high-level visits and regional issues of mutual interest.
